BWAHAHAHA! Palinophobes Pwned ;-)
Can't Post
Yeah, unbridled hatred can lead even the supposedly smart literati astray. From Jonah Goldberg:
Slate magazine is just one of the countless media outlets convulsing with St. Vitus' Dance over that demonic succubus Sarah Palin. In its reader forum, The Fray, one supposed Palinophobe took dead aim at the former Alaska governor's writing chops, excerpting the following sentence from her book:
"The apartment was small, with slanting floors and irregular heat and a buzzer downstairs that didn't work, so that visitors had to call ahead from a pay phone at the corner gas station, where a black Doberman the size of a wolf paced through the night in vigilant patrol, its jaws clamped around an empty beer bottle."
Other readers pounced like wolf-sized Dobermans on an intruder. One guffawed, "That sentence by Sarah Palin could be entered into the annual Bulwer-Lytton bad writing contest. It could have a chance at winning a (sic) honorable mention, at any rate."
But soon, the original contributor confessed: "I probably should have mentioned that the sentence quoted above was not written by Sarah Palin. It's taken from the first paragraph of ‘Dreams From My Father,' written by Barack Obama."
The ruse should have been allowed to fester longer, but the point was made nonetheless: Some people hate Palin first and ask questions later.
My all-time favorite response to John McCain's selection of Palin as his running mate was from Wendy Doniger, a feminist professor of religion at the University of Chicago. Professor Doniger wrote of the exceedingly feminine "hockey mom" with five children: "Her greatest hypocrisy is in her pretense that she is a woman."
The best part about that sentence: Doniger uses the pronoun "her" - twice.
Just this week, a liberal blogger at The Atlantic who has dedicated an unhealthy amount of his life to proving a one-man birther conspiracy theory about Palin's youngest child (it's both too slanderous and too deranged to detail here) shut down his blog to cope with the epochal, existential crisis that Palin's book presents to all humankind. The un-self-consciously parodic announcement seemed more appropriate for a BBC warning that the German blitz was about to begin, God Help Us All.
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/...ons_later_99240.html
I guess old Andy Pants, over at the Atlantic, is still struggling to retrain the speech centers in his brain. Eventually, he'll recover -- smoke a little more dope -- and be back to regale us with the brilliance of his thoughts.
Too bad.
T.

LMAO my ribs hurt from laughing. Im still trying to figure out the hatred of her but this makes the proces much more fun.
I love it when the people who preach or try to convince everyone how understanding and accepting of everything show their true colors.

Just to summarize, a woman who ran for the second highest office in the US had trouble putting together coherent sentences.

too bad Palin didn't actually write her own book, but you wouldn't know that by looking at the cover.

There's some pure gold on Palin's facebook page, if you have time to read thousands of comments. One I read yesterday was something like "I am a strong, intelligent women who is supporting Palin for president in 2010".

Dude, that's not even fair. She has formulated statements that are much less intelligent than anything in that clip. I guess that when you can see Russia from your front porch, you don't have time to worry about fancy, big city things like coherent verbalization and articulation.

Here, I'll fix that line for you:
"too bad Obama didn't actually write his own book, but you wouldn't know that by looking at the cover.
That's better :-)

Pretty good, I have to admit. This guy, who ran for (and won) the highest office in the land is also pretty funny. It should actually be entitled "I Am Uh-Man, Hear Me Roar(stutter)..."
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dtT5qnfKHEg
Here's one of the comments about this guy over at YouTube:
we elected another retard to be prez we deserve it tooo much Tv and flouride now we pay.
This is, of course, an insult to the mentally challenged and obscures the fact they almost never say something so prosaic as "uh." ;-) T.

After listening to several years of "Bbbbbut Bush..." over the years here in the LR, it's kind of refreshing to have some other guy to pick on once in awhile :-)

But she did say this:
Couric: Do you think there's an inherent right to privacy in the Constitution?
Palin: I do. Yeah, I do.
Whoops! Republicans didn't see that one coming. So much for an argument against activist judges.
And then there was my personal favorite when Couric asked her if she could name another Supreme Court decision she disagreed with and she could not do so. Just stunning.

So, you guys get PWNED! when it's shown she never said that, and then you go for the whole emanations and penumbra thing that arose from the Roe v. Wade decision and then don't address why she said what she said about there may be an "inherent" right to privacy in the Constitution and then tie in something about "activist judges" as a way to try to prove she's phony, right? Talk about shifting the goal posts. First, you can't prove she said something stupid, now you want to say she's stupid because she didn't take the time to school an airhead like Couric on the finer points of CONLAW?
Talk about impossible standards.

Not a big Palin fan, but I do think she was savaged by the press, and liberals have an almost irrational fear of the woman. Her "revenge" is in full swing right now, with big crowds, and I take it, big money coming her way. I say well done, and hope that she goes away.

Did you go down and look at the hyperlink? It should be clear where my commentary is and his is. Nice try, though, at not even coming close to trying to rebut the essential doofusness of the Goldberg "Palinophobe" crowd.

That's the same attitude a lot of folks here in the land of the big PX have. None of these new government programs are actually going to cost them money because many aren't even really paying income tax anymore.

Wow. Charlie Gibson -- a self-admitted dunce when it came to former communists in the White House, to name just one issue -- and Sarah Palin. And you're holding Gibson up as some sort of purveyor of the truth? I'm actually not here to defend Palin, per se (though I have, in the past), but rather to point out the frothing-at-the-mouth lunacy of much of the anti-Palin crowd.

Hey, I think Charlie Gibson is an ass puppet just like the next guy, but he didn't put those words into her mouth. In fact, it sounded like someone (perhaps a man with large testicles) was putting something into his mouth. Was that English or Mumblish?
At any rate, I'll give he pwned an F, but the analysis on Gibson a solid A.
