A bee stings you in the foot when you are running.
No kidding, this happened today. Right under the tongue of my shoe. Good thing I'm not allergic.

Bernard Lagat barely notices you as he runs by on his recovery run...
He and Abdi run on my street quite often... it's a little bit of magic to watch them in action...
But really- they both will look me straight in the eyes, say hello, and wave as they go by in a blur...

It is 'amazing' to watch Lagat run, isn't it?! I lived in Pullman during the time that Lagat was at WSU. Truly the most beautiful and graceful runner I've ever seen. He makes it look effortless.

I love watching really fast runners. At Badwater I watched the leaders go by and I was in awe. Something to see. I can't wait for the sprinters at the Olympics.

I love watching fast runners too. We've got some really good runners in my university town, they are just amazing. I usually like to run about the same time the men's cc or track teams are out, and thankfully I make sure we're always running the opposite direction! They always say "hi" though....
sometimes I run that fast, but then I wake up

you know you're running slow when an overweight couch potato pug runs ahead and then pauses, turns back to see if you're still alive, and then keeps on running way ahead of you.
