2010 Trek TTX - Yes or No???	Can't Post

So, if Specialized is releasing their Shiv in "limited quantities" will we see Trek releasing their new frame in 2010 as well?

Granted the Trek may look simple, I must admit it keeps growing on me. Especially when there appear to be virtually zero cables exposed as well as front and rear brakes which appear to have been integreted. Perhaps Trek has finally beat Cervelo's P4 at their "over-anticipated" game of engineering (just my opinion)...

I do actually like the P4...but the lack of any visible cables and other upgrades look great on the Trek (which I never really cared for previously).

the trek, shiv, and p4 are all very compelling to me.

i like the IDEA of the shiv nosecone, but its also sorta ridiculous looking

the trek is sweet with its integrated stem and front brake solutions

but the cervelo is sweet with the downtube 'noncutout', water bottle, and rear brake

this is tough choice =)

im leaning towards P4, when you seem them in person its pretty wild how the bike wraps around the front wheel, and how invisible it is from the rear.

but the shiv and trek call to me as well =)

I have to say, between the P4, the Shiv, and the new Trek, the P4 is now at the bottom of the list (of bikes that I cannot afford). That is based purely on aesthetics.

I would have never considered the TTX before. But this things looks pretty sweet.

They say more likely 2011, but if the UCI enforces their mandate that team bikes be "marketed or marketable", i.e. available to schlubs like us, they may accelerate.

Not sure about this whole squared-off trailing edge thing. I know it's been proven in automotive applications, but does it really work the same on bikes? Seems like it runs counter to everything we've been led to believe. Doesn't mean it's not true though...

I vote Trek or Specialized over Cervelo any day. Not only do I think that Trek and Specialized are just better companies than Cervelo, but I support American companies.

I think the Trek is the best on paper. Look how smooth that bike is! It's really a work of art.

The Shiv is also very well designed and I think they considered the elements of the p4 and copied what they thought would be helpful. The aero data on the Shiv looks really good...there is a whole thread about it on ST with one of the Shiv engineers updating us. I assume you've seen it.

I think the p4 is clearly the 3rd place, budget guy's bike--I assume the Trek and Shiv will cost substantially more. Cevelo makes some solid bikes, no doubt. But the plastic pos water bottle is so dumb looking to me I cannot purchase the bike as a result. It is the equivalent of the giant aero fairing that TJ used. That's just how I feel about it. Also I think the p4 rear brake is not that great either.

Good luck shopping! You can't really go wrong with any of these machines.

I'm going to say the TREK. It really looks beautiful and I like the black of the TREK versus the black of the P4. The no cables and integrated brakes seal the deal.

the squared off trailing edge may be slightly less aero but make for a stiffer structure and a seat tube that doesn't slip and squeak

Im a fan of the Scott also, but with the recent release of the Plasma 2, i think it will be 2011 or 2012 before another one comes out from them.

1.3.007 Bicycles and their accessories shall be of a type that is or could be sold for use by anyone practising cycling as a sport. The use of equipment designed especially for the attainment of a particular performance (record or other) shall be not authorised.

Trek release: "it's a team-only item at the moment but Trek definitely has plans to bring this market no later than the 2011 model year".

And of course in 2011 the team rides then the bikes they plan to bring on the market 2015. That's the way Armstrong's clan respects rules and others.

Just a reminder that the model years typically start in the Aug/Sep timeframe. I.e., you'll see "2010" bikes (as with cars) showing up this fall at the bigger dealers. So if Trek describes this as a 2011 bike, that would mean it would be available starting in Q3 of 2010. I find that whole thing (as with cars) very confusing, but that's the way it is.

How do you adjust the sizing of the front end of that bike? Can you swap out stems? Do you use different stem/fork sets?

It seems to have very little adjustability. Won't that be a significant problem for a bike for the masses?

I'm interning at the facility that makes the new Gulfstream G650's wings. They have a squared off trailing edge too.They say it reduces drag.

This Trek looks insane. I wonder if the front brake is also integrated like that?

well, it is more likely that all those new superbike will be a bit more complicated to maintain. It s not necessarly for the average person. Those bike are complex and a bit of mechanical knowledge will be required...

Personal, i dont care... it s worthy and fun. But for someone that dosnt like to work on bike, these arent the best...

Lance has always had a fair number of spacers on his TTX. Obviously no spaces on his current ride. Just curious how to adjust the front end.

right on. speefil is the biggest birth controlling piece of equipment ever, using it will never get you laid.

the p4 looks the most aero, but then again my eyes arent a windtunnel. the narrowing top tube is kind of weird for me on the shiv, even though the front fairing looks the best. scott did a nice job too. trek doesnt seem to be in teh same catagory as the other "super bikes"

i still wouldnt buy any of these over priced machines
