Abu Dhabi Triathlon Can't Post

I'm a bit surprised that they will allow women in this triathlon. There are very serious reservations in their culture about women showing skin. I'm not joking.
I wonder if it will make the race and the athletes targets for the extremists?

Sorry, the other thread wasn't on the front page when I started to post this.

It's the UAE; as long as its the foreign women showing the skin, it's not really an issue. (See any number of Dubai co-ed luxury beach resorts)

Part of the country's plan for the future is hosting big time sporting events. Dubai has been an open water Grand Prix stop for years and is hosting FINA short course worlds in 2010.

Speculation is also that they're going to put together a huge bid for the 2020 Olympics.

Dubai is a much more progressive Arab region than Kuwait or Saudi Arabia.
