Anyone know how to change the date on a Garmin .tcx file? Can't Post
I did two indoor workouts (ie. GPS disabled) recently with my 310XT that, for some reason, show the wrong dates when uploaded to Training Center and/or Garmin Connect.

Does anyone know if there's any easy way to fix this in the .tcx file so that they show up on the correct dates when uploaded? (I'm using Windows.)

you have to edit the raw xml file and change the date/time within it. if you have an XML editor, use it. I use textedit on the MAC, it's a pain, but doable.

Hmm.....two nights ago on the 2nd, my .tcx file from a 705 read 11-3-09. When I dl'd to WKO it read 11-2-09 as it should.

you can edit it in excel too

have you gotten the update for your 310?

Is it the .tcx file you edit in Excel?

What update? I have (I believe, it's not in front of me) firmware 2.60 in mine.

FYI, root cause is a known issue with certain 310XTs losing time when they don't get sat lock. Seems to be hardware related - get Garmin to replace the unit and the problem goes away. See this thread for several people (including me) that had the problem resolved with a different unit:

I meant to add it to the FAQ but never got around to it - it's on the list. ;)
