Baker's cyst ruptured?
Can't Post
I just had a MRI done on my sore knee. The radiologist report says I have a baker's cyst that is ruptured or leaking.
Is it good/bad that it is ruptured or leaking?
What have you guys done to effectively treat it?

It doesn't matter. In the ortho world a "bakers" or popliteal cyst is insignificant.
sometimes if causing alot of pain your doc might aspirate it. problem is it always fills up again.
so, talk with your doc who odered the MRI not the radiologist who read the report. your doc was more than likely looking for an uderlying reason for the "cyst" and would treat that problem not the cyst.

Thats the confusing part. I do not have an underlying cause. Everything else in my knee looked fine on the MRI. 100% normal. The pain started during the marathon at IMLP, so I'm not sure what was going on in there during the run.
I have a normal MRI, yet still have discomfort while running and hard biking. Ortho is saying, you are fine no surgery required have a nice day. But I still have discomfort

sorry for your frustration. at this point if the ortho surgeon doesn't have a underlying cause he has no reason to operate.
surgeons want to operate and fix stuff that needs fixed. if i were you i would probably search you region for a "sports med' doc. this is usually a primary care doc who did a sports fellowship. they don't operate, thus, would probably have more interest in your situation. good luck.
