I thought that might get me into a little trouble, but pretending that Specialzied or just about anyone making $5000+ road bikes are inferior altogether is altogether transparent to everyone. They make great bikes. Felt makes great bikes, we share many of the same components and component vendors. They have some innovations and products we don't (cranksets, eyewear, helmets, etc...) and we offer things they don't. As I mentioned, it is a great time to be a consumer of high end bicycles. You can literally have any alll all options out there if you are willing to consider multiple brands. I completely agree, so many more brands are reaching maturity of design and technology that it's getting hard to go wrong. So the only way to differentiate is by holding on to little prejudices ;-) (given that I don't need shop assistance). I'd love to add an AR to my stable but you persist in not having an importer here. If I weren't so obsessed with aero then I'd happily go for a Tarmac/Madone/TCR/Supersix/R3/Canyon - it doesn't really matter with the well designed roadies. Although the Spec importer here is evil so they're not an option and Spec's new distribution they're setting up themselves (in secret) is off to a bad start if it wants to be any better. As an example of options - I filtered my database for HTs of over 200mm for a tall guy and came up with 299 frames (with a 7cm variation in reach among them). Certainly no reason to bemoan a lack of choices if you're prepared to do some research.
