Calf strain or general soreness - safe to ride in 4 hours time? Can't Post

Just a quick question - planning on doing a group ride in a few hours. Have been riding regularly but only started up running again about 3 weeks ago. General soreness that goes with getting back into things came with that. Anyway had a big weekend of gardening (shovelling etc) and did a short run of 6km on Monday as I was feeling it a bit from the weekend (long hills ride was Sunday). But today my calves have felt really tight (did an 11km run this morning). Came home and massaged them by hand for a bit but still feeling really sore (currently 1:45am - got up for a drink! - and will leave home at 5:15am if riding). Just wondering whether it could be anything more sinister and thus whether I should do the group ride or not (still plan to do 8km commute). If it's just general soreness can't see an issue but don't know the difference.

Cheers
Mike

I think you'll be fine. If there's no swelling or bruising, it's probably nothing to worry about.
