CompuTrainer and a used road bike
Can't Post
Hey guys,
I'm new to triathlons. I've been training for 4 months now and want to train more seriously that my time is starting to free up. I've heard CompuTrainers are pretty cool and a great tool for training during the winter. They are also expensive so I'm wondering if they live up to the hype and are worth the investment. Is there anywhere you can get them used
Ive also been using a friends bike during my training and want to buy a bike for myself and possibly my new computrainer :)
I was going to post in the classifieds that Im looking to buy one but apparently i need to make 25 posts and wait a month. Anyone know a good place on the web to find used bikes or retail stores in the Kitchener area (Ontario Canada)
Thanks!
Steve

Was just doing some research and came across another indoor training system, the velotron. How does this one compare the the Computrainer

hi Steve
yep, you are right, Computrainers are a great training tool, and eevn in Sydney where we can ride year around they are still worth using.
also there have probably been about 27 gazillion threads on Computrainer, even more than that on bikes and even a few on Veltrons, so I'd be using some of your research skills and having a search through this very forum.
good luck Avago

It costs a lot more but no one who has bought one, including CT owners, has regretted it.

K thanks guys. What about the used road bikes. Is there any way to get around the 30 day wait to post in the classifieds on this site

First, get an idea of what you are looking for, "Used Road Bikes" can range anywhere from a few hundred dollars for a beater to used but still $3,000 Orbea. Second, use the search feature and find a thread that is selling what you are looking for, there are probably dozens of used road bikes that have gone in the forum in the last few months, find the most recent or relevant thread and revive it, if it turns out it's already sold post and say something to the effect of oh dang I missed out on this, does anyone else have something similar for sale?
Thread hijacking is technically against the classified rules but keep it tasteful and I'm sure you'll be fine, there are no exceptions to the 30 day wait to post a new topic.
