Connective Tissue Health/Supplements Can't Post

I seem to get a lot of tendinitis. It seems like I'm always fixing a new injury. I've been trying to find the "cause".

I'm getting blood drawn soon to see if anything is out of whack. I don't supplement anything and I'm sure my diet doesn't give me everything I need.

I'm wondering if anyone has had experience with tendinitis type injuries and supplementation. From the little I've been reading even a multivitamin can help tissue health.

So any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Overuse. Look at your training log.

Tendonitis can can be caused by substantially more than just "overuse".

Improper form , muscle imbalances , positioning ( bike ) , equuipment ( running shoes ), etc. etc. etc.

Glucosamine and Chondroitin are probably the most widely used supplements to facillitate joint health and are something that should be in every endurance athletes fridge.

I would highly suggest visiting a sports doctor and / or a physiotherapist who will be able to give you an educated opinion and prolong your sports career.

Good luck :)

I've been told by a physical therapist that some people have this tendency, and as I have that stringy rangy runner's type physique (rather than muscular), well, it's just the way I am.

Upon the advice of a nurse, I supplement with fish oil; ice after any workout that may bring on tendon pain (inflammation); take ibuprofen or other anti-inflammatories; use physio tape if appropriate; increase workload cautiously; massage the area to increase circulation

Bad news - tendonosis is more likely with increasing age. Good news - if I am careful I can manage it quite well.
