Favorite Flick on the Treadmill / Trainer Can't Post

I can't get enough of Starship Troopers.

"The only good bug is a dead bug."
"This is for you new people. Everyone fights, nobody quits. If you don't do your job, I'll shoot you. Do you get me?"
"I need a lieutenant. You're it until you're dead, or I find someone better"

Haha! Classics!

So, what Hollywood flick can't you get enough of while working out?

(Spinervals/Runervals, ErgVideos, Race Day videos, etc. don't count here.)

Watched Tombstone a couple times, also the new Bond "Casino Royale" and "Quantum of Solace". If you have wifi in the house, here is a great website to watch movies for free.

Anything without a plot and a lot of action. So anything with Nick Cage and/or Jason Stratham.

It's called Hockey Night in Canada and it just happens to correspond with my long ride each week during the winter months. An occasional show, CSI, Criminal Minds is also ok but if there is sports in then that's what I prefer.

Watch the original Star Wars and sprint every time R2D2 is on the screen.

You'll learn to hate that little blue asshat.

I've got about 100 classic Michigan college football games going back to the 60's. All wins, of course. One amazing piece of useless trivia...since 1944 Michigan has had only two (TWO!) radio play-by-play guys...Bob Ufer and Frank Beckmann. Both great radio guys.

-Family guy and south park dvds are good
-For some reason No Country For Old Men ends up in there every so often (ridiculously badass movie)
-Spinervals are always an option, but I strongly prefer the later ones where you can mute that cornyass music.

I go to wal-mart and go to the $5 movie bins, usually there is something decent there, I just got one that has like 4 hours of Navy Seal stuff so that should be cool, look for tv series on DVD like 24, sons of anarchy or anything like that. I even sat through the first 2 seasons of friends one winter on the trainer.

if you go to world cycling productions, you can get lots of good race dvds. in fact I have an extra copy of the 2008 TDF that is like 6 discs if somebody wants to buy it for cheap.

thing is though, when you are doing intervals you cant really watch all that well, when Im using the power tap and I am doing like 3x20 or 3x30m those intervalls hurt bad so the tv only sort of matters.

x2 on Tombstone and Miracle, will add Slap Shot and Braveheart. For box sets/series, Band of Brothers.

The U2 live at Red Rocks in '83 DVD is good for the music as well as the visuals.

Don Cherry's sports coat tonight has to go into the Hall of Fame of ugly. Pink, brown, floral, so very Banff airline stewardess form 1967.

Miami Vice is a nice nostalgia piece, and they had a decent enough budget for a lot of car & boat chases. 24 is also good in the action series category. (easy to watch a number of episodes in one long slog because of the number of cliffhangers)

As a SF geek, I feel obliged to plug Babylon 5 and Farscape. Good story arcs, great dramatic moments, and at times laugh out loud funny.

Band of Brothers - currently on my 4th viewing in the past couple months.
the last two Bond movies
Behind Enemy Lines
The Departed

Just moved my "office" downstairs to my "gym". Old office is becoming the second baby room. So, now I will have the option of satalite/dvd/internet. Should get me through the winter.

This winter, I'm working through the final 2 seasons of The Shield, Season 1&2 of The Family Guy and Season 2 of the Simpsons.

Been through all the original 3 Star Wars 3-4x and have found they can no longer keep me on the trainer. But maybe I'll have to sprint everytime R2D2 is on. Of course I keep watching the Princess Leia scenes where she is chained to Jabba and on the party barge.

Now that I have an xbox w/ wireless controls, I might try that as well.

Cartoon Movies work great - Aladin, Lion King, Samurai Jack episodes, Toys Story, etc.

Once a winter I try to work out to Braveheart - not in one sitting though.
