Full IM in the midwest in spring/early summer
Can't Post
Does anyone have any recommendations for a full IM during the spring or early summer months in the midwest? One that is not already sold out, obviously. I have a wedding the weekend of Louisville, and the only other one I could find was in Sandusky, OH but it's not until 9/12...looking for something earlier. Crap, any full IM during those months will work at this point. Help!

Well, not $1,100 for the IM Foundation slots. Anything under $600 would catch my interest.

If you can not find a full IM - come to IM 70.3 Kansas - You can do all the distance twice for your full IM race. Z

Since the extra you pay for a charity slot is tax deductible (assuming you itemize on your taxes) the extra amount is really a drop in the bucket compared to everything else you spend to do an Ironman. Really, considering all the extra in food, wetsuit, energy drinks, bike upgrades, travel, hotel, it goes on and on, what's an extra tax-deductible $600?

If you live / train in the Midwest the best time to do an IM is the end of August or beginning of September, that way you have the whole summer to prepare. Much better than trying to do 100 mile rides in the snows of March.

$600 hmm. For half that I'll design a course for you in central Ohio. I'll kayak with you on the swim, set up custom aid stations on the bike and run and follow you with a scooter. :)
