Hincapie's infection Can't Post

Has anyone ever heard what it was specifically Hincapie was suffering from last spring? I've read him mention a parasite. Anyone know what it was?

Some sort of a stomach parasite that lingered on. He tried anti-biotics and it didn't work. Went to a Chinese trained doctor who perscribed a regime of herbs and a macro-biotic diet. Cleared it up in a few weeks.

Yeah. I was wondering what it was specifically: hookworms, tapeworm, etc?

He didn't say. I read an interview in which he talked about this in a British cycling magazine.

Good point. Shouldn't somebody have told that to George's MD?

I'm imagining that wither the reporter or hincapie called his anti parasitic medication an antibiotic, or the chinese guy figured it out...

Parasites are one of those things if you don't think abou tit you won't find

Yo KP..REad the Cycle Sport interview also, sounded a bit vague and sketchy really. Sounded like severe overtraining, fatigue etc etc, that was cured by rest and a careful diet. Im not an internist , but from the article it sounded like he had seen several docs, and had all sorts of test, blood work etc. Im not sure how you diagnose a parasitic infection, but it sounded like rest and proper eating did the trick.

Glad to see George back at the front of the group , he should be mega for the first Would love to see him win Flanders or Paris Roubaix.
