IMCDA 2010 House Rental Suggestions? Can't Post

Spectated at this year's race and have signed up for 2010. Want to rent a house close to the race start, if possible. There will be 4 of us sharing the rental (2 couples). Hoping that someone who rented this year, and isn't returning next year, might be able to share some info, either by posting or by PM. Also very open to the idea of a house exchange (CDA/Victoria, BC) instead of renting.

Thanks!

Check out www.vrbo.com (vacation rentals by owner). I've used this for Ironman travels and vacations.
There are a lot of options and you can pick the size of the house.
For CDA, just be careful to figure out where exactly the house is. It can say 'CDA' but could be on the other side of the lake - which means a 45 min drive on race morning. There are a number of houses that rent during IMCDA that are within walking distance to the transition area.
The house I stayed at a few years back is no longer listed, but there are many others.

Good luck.

I stayed at the McFarland Inn www.mcfarlandinn.com for this years race. It is on 6th St and Foster. We walked to the start and I rode my bike back after the finish. It is about 2 blocks further than race day parking. All five rooms were rented by
IM couples, 3 from our AZ group. Nancy runs the B&B. She is very accommodating to the IM guests. She will stock any unique breakfast needs you have and prepare it daily and at 4 am on race day. I had a case of RedBull and a case of Propel waiting when I arrived. She will make reservations for you for dinners and such. She cooks a mean breakfast and stocks a great buffet that is out all day. We were in the hot tub 3 times a day. There is a garage to store your bikes in and she will accept and ship your bike from the UPS guy. She has 5 new mountain bikes for the guests to use so you don't have to bar hop on the race bike. I was very comfortable and enjoyed my 5 nights (minimum) there. It had a touch of the mother in laws house though with the antique funishings and tip toeing across creaky wood floors. The price isn't cheap but if you figure the 4 guests will get 20 breakfasts it isn't bad. You also have a lot less crap to worry about before, daily and after the race. PM me if you have any other questions.

Thanks for the great suggestions. As it turned out I had enquired, on the Lodging Forum of the IMCDA website, about a cabin that was advertised and asked if it was available for 2010. I heard back from the owner earlier this week and we're renting it for next year. Big relief to have that settled well in advance!
