IM canada adds more community fund slots for 2010

List was down to zero on Friday but today there are 146 more. Looks like they decided to add 150 more. And the price is down to $1000 from $1300 last year.

Looks like registration must be down this year. I, and several others I know, managed to register online the day after the race.

I heard a rumor while in Penticton last August that they are shooting for the first 3000 person IM start in 2010. Absurd.

That will be chaotic on the roads. You can forget about drafting penalties or riding clean with 3000 riders.

I'll be in Penticton next summer to cheer for friends and possibly sign up for 2011. Whether or not I do sign up will hinge mainly on how many people start the race in 2010. If it's anywhere close to 3000, i'll be keeping my money.

this rumour was around a few years ago for the 25th annivesary race. in fact the rumours were for 2 waves to split up the rough stuff and drafting.
i can't see it ever happening. their primary concern being safety. despite what some ST'ers might type here, it isn't all greed and money, NAS really does think safety and athlete first while making good money along the way. if they wanted to earn GREAT money from IMC, they would have sold this race too.
