IRONMAN UK - Race Information Can't Post
Hi there guys and gals......For anyone interested in taking part in IMUK 2010, I have a site up and running that has all the details you could ask for in terms of the race, the course and the surrounding area. I live on the bike course and have ridden it more than anyone else in the world.

My site has lots of pictures, directions and tips for anyone thinking of doing this event.

It also has my race report from 2009 to give you an idea of what lies ahead....

Just to point out that if any of you guys from across the pond raced in 2009 and have anything to contribute to the site, then please email me and I will get it up there for you.

I just want to make the site as informative and useful as I can for those travelling from afar !

That is great info.I traveled solo to Sherborne in 2005 to do the race from the US.I will be doing lake Placid 2010 and maybe UK 2011 for my IM swan song :-) Thanks for the detailed info great job.
It is early but is possible to fly into Manchester and get to bolton by not renting a car? and stay right near the race site and walk around to resturants etc? or just rent a car?
I did rent a car and drove from Gatwick to Sherborne it was not to bad and it was nice to have a car to see the sites around since Sherborne is very small.

Cheers for the positive replies mate !!

First off, Bolton and surrounding areas are a million miles from Sherborne in terms of size/stuff going on and the good news is that you could fly into Manchester and then catch the airport train to Bolton itself, in fact to Horwich Parkway would be better - you can then walk the 1km or so to a few hotels and restaurants......If it were me though I would hire a car....gives you a chance to see a bit more of the area too !!!
