Could not pass this up.

For a moment there, I thought you'd upgraded the car-boat.

Dave, not racing next year? Anyway, that Rover looks fast.

I have a bad back issue that will not go away. Have not run in 4 months. So, unless things really improve, I will be helping at races for a while.

Dave, sorry to hear that. My wife has been in the same boat(no pun intended:) two years no running, very little riding. I hope you recover soon.

Good luck.

Here's a song you can hum along to when you get your Water Rover and go for an open water test swim......

Dave,

I'm sincerely sorry that you're having back problems ...... BUT .... if you quit using those powercranks and 220 pedals you'd probably be fine and could actually race in your water rover ;-p

Dave :-)

Do you have a diagnosis? (disc, muscle, whatever)

I have a disc at the S1 area that is hitting the nerve. Makes the entire leg in real pain. As others say, trying to sleep at night is just about impossible.
Killer pain the in the glute. I had one shot in the back and it cleared up the pain in an instant. For some reason it has come back after 2 months.
Really holding off calling the doc again since I want to use another shot as last resort. On the vitacan now to see if this will get me through it.
At least I can swim each morning.

Been interesting reading on ST how many others have the same issue.

Being a tinkerer and wondering what the extra flotation is worth, I've been thinking about cutting up an old long sleeve wetsuit and combining it with my sleeveless suit that I've not used much in years. Or, maybe I'll pick up the old T1 top when people buy the WR, combine it with my sleeveless, and glue panels from the old suit on it. I'll be the guy who looks like an old castoff wetsuit experiment at next spring's races.

Been there (L3-L4 and L4-L5 partial diskectomy in 2000). Sorry you have to deal with it. I put off the surgery for as long as I could, but ultimately, it's what cleared up my problem. Hope you can fix it without such extreme measures.

Out of curiosity, I wore the legs from an old wetsuit under my new wetsuit. Three test swims didn't show any time savings.

So Dave ... we see you editted your 15% off, no shipping or tax. Me thinks you have not been so honest with us and you haven't ordered any such waterrover from Trisports .... your nose must be getting longer:-)

It would seem that the nose has become even longer than his 220 cranks .... and still growing;-)

Re: Just ordered my Desoto Water Rover [DamonHenry] [In reply to] Can't Post

I address this issue in my FAQ's on the Water Rover Post, but I am glad you tested it as it just confirms my reply.

Q. Can’t I just wear two wetsuits and get the same effect?
A. No. You will see there is a lot more to it than that. There is less flexibility in 2 layers of rubber, especially in areas such as shoulders, than there is in the thick rubber we use. It will blow you away when you see how stretchy the 8mm and 10mm rubber is! You also will have water accumulating between both suits that literally gets stuck between them. You will be carrying this water throughout your swim. Finally, you have the removal of two wetsuits. If one takes 15 seconds to remove then two take you 30. Did you save any time on the swim?

Emilio, would it be USAT legal to put inflatable air pockets in the suit's thighs?

Re: Just ordered my Desoto Water Rover [Emilio] [In reply to] Can't Post

Being open at both ends, water would not accumulate between the suits. My one little test wouldn't seem to support your claims. You'd have to do actual testing. Until then, your claims are unsupported.
