My Bike for IM NZ Can't Post

Just thought I'd share with you a look at my still-experimental steed I'll be using in Taupo:

[slobber slobber!] Golly!

Bold choice, eschewing a chain -- wouldn't want to snag your bloomers out on the chip-seal.

The lack of a chain promotes a higher cadence and therefore less lactate buildup for the run.

I'll of course be wearing an Oakley Viper (tm) Kerosene Irridium Monocle and a Louis Garneau Time Trial Top Hat!

Superb choice! I trust you'll be wearing Dr. Horton's Rubber-ized Gentlemen's Swimming-Breeches for the duration of the swimming and pedaling portions?

Do you plan to shave your shins betwixt your spats and your knickers?

I especially like the choice to sidestep the whole clincher / tubular debate, and just go for the solid rubber tyres.

Makes us realize that Joe Boness has the big/little wheel reversed the wrong way.

I will shear my shins twain the kickers and spats but I am loathe to proceed any further!

Upon exiting the swim headlong -- like water to the millrace -- I will don on a Coolmax Edwardian Ruff to avoid a nasty bout of consumption.

My running ensemble will consist of a fine woolen sport trousers (should the roads be besmirched) and a pair of Nike Carpetbager 1900's.

I fully expect a dubious askance from my fellowe competitors. But I'm hoping my finely waxed burnsides will showe them that I am a true sporting gentleman!

Re: My Bike for IM NZ [3Sport] [In reply to] Can't Post

Capital idea! Why, I myself wore an Edwardian ruff (as distinguish'd from the Victorian ruff by a lesser frill-count) in the Mulligan's Pond Tri-Athlon Exhibition, and found it to be unparalleled in its mud-deflecting properties -- one must be careful to keep one's monocle clear.

Unfortunatley my front wheel became "bogg'd to the spindle" in one of the numerous swamp-pits upon the course. I was nearly strangled by my watch-fob trying to dig myself out, and I was finally forced to send for Old Man Mulligan to fetch me with his two-horse rig.

As the French have it, "c'est la vie!"

If by "carbon" you mean cast iron, then my answer is a resounding yes!
