Run off the road...by a cyclist?? Can't Post

So, I'm running on the canal last night. Paved, quiet. Nice moonlit night. I'm wearing a white shirt, and yes, I'm wearing an iPod. Get over it. :D

So, from up behind me comes a couple on their mountain bikes, no lights, chatting away, evidently didn't see me in this long, straight path. (it's straight and open for a couple miles). I didn't hear them, and the one on the right clips my arm and sends me stumbling, almost into the canal. (Which would have been fun, it would have been 1/2 mile swim in crap water to get to anywhere I could climb out).

And they don't even stop. Bastages.

Sorry to hear. Are you sure they didn't give you an "on your left" and you didn't hear it?

Regardless, general bike/walking path decorum is, as I understand, that 1) pedestrians have the right of way and 2) the person who is "behind" is at fault (sorta like a car rear ending another).

Regardless of decorum, perhaps you should hold off on listening to music while running on a path a night for your own protection.

Did you not know that in a race all runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.

Heh. I live in Mormon Central here, not too many DUI's.

Check your PM's.

Must have been TNTers! I've found that if I turn up the volume on my IPod that I'm easier for others to notice ... sort of a safety thing where I have an advantage over the unsafe non-IPod users. It really irritates me when people don't wear IPods ;-)

Why should you always bring two Mormons with you when you go fishing?

Cause if you only bring one, he'll drink all your beer.

Classic! I grew up in St. Louis, which has a huge Mormon population, and some of the hardest partiers I knew where Mormons!
