How come all you Race Directors insist on CEO Challenges?
We need more races that suck up to the guy making coffee, hauling out the trash, cleaning the toilets, making sure that things hit the Fedex truck at shipping so that the package gets on the FedEX feeder into Anchorage so that the product arrives by the next morning at the customer's shipping dock in Taipei, Osaka or Incheon....whose taking care of these critical guys. We already know the CEO is being taken care of.
We need more challenges for the rank and file worker that keeps every company humming along to profitability so that the CEO can make shareholders happy at earning's time.
Now that would show real appreciation for your average American worker showing up to do these races :-)....oops, I forgot the challenge for the average worker is the age grouper division....OK, carry on!

Dev,
We thought it would be good to add several new award catagories to the race in order to attract that "everyday" person and recognize them as well. As far as the CEO challenge there is no minimum salary requirement. So this will include small business owners as well as the CEO's of big corporations.
In fact, as an "everyman's race", in Toughman ANY age grouper can win the prize purse. Plus if you win your AG you can win a Canon digital camera!
And yes, Annie will be racing again this yr.

Hey Richard....just picking on ya. CEOs are pretty used to getting their egos stroked on a daily basis. Probably better if they get their asses handed to them with a sound thrashing on the athletic playing field and actually finish in the middle of the pack where their training effort more likely puts them at.
On the other hand, if you named your challenge, "independent business owner challenge" now that would get the respect of your rank and file athlete. I think on the balance the average working joe has more respect of guys building their own business than CEOs of corporations.
Let's give those working guys their due :-)
Anyway, your race conflicts with the Esprit Half Ironman in Montreal which is closer to home, but I'd like to go race one of these years as I have family in Westchester county.

I am happy to announce that the Toughman triathlon will be co-sponsoring a multi-sport clinic on March 14th with St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital (at SLRH) in mid-town from 10am-4pm.
There will be speakers and a vendor expo. This will be free to the public. We will be pre-registering athletes on active so that the first 200 get a free goodie bag made up with things from the vendors and race.
For more info go to
