Upgrading from a 53T to a 54T chainring
Can't Post
Ok, I ended up upgrading to a 54 tooth chainring from a 53 (SRAM TT for the 54 now). The chain is a brand new Sram Red with the Sram Powerlink. Would it be wise to add another link or is ok to leave it as is? The rear cassette currently is a 11x23 but when I ride the super hilly stuff I was going to switch to a 12x27 (IMWI). Any input is welcome....

If you switch from a 53/23 to a 54/27, you will want to look at your chain length. Put it in your biggest chainring and biggest cog on back (size wise) and make sure your derailleur is not stretched past 90 degrees. If you do add links put it in your smallest chainring and smallest cog and make sure derailleur has a bit of tension on it and the chain doesn't rub.
Also remember, most people were off work before you posted the first time and will not be back until Monday. This board is a bit slow during non working hours :)
