USAT Project Podium entered in 5k @ BU this weekend

If they’re at BU (aka the magic carpet), they’re there to RACE. How high is their track ceiling?? I’d say 14:xx is a given for all of them. Any sub-14s? Vannerson maybe?

Need an update with some race results. Really like to see stuff like this. Good chance for these athletes to get in a fast race, with great competition around them. Chances are they won't be the fastest seed in their heat & that the race will go out faster than their PBs. Let it rip & hang on for as long as you can -- the BU way!

Just generally speaking, the 5000m has the potential to be absolutely insane, with collegiate, US, and possibly world records all on the table. Think you probably need a flotrack account to watch though....

Yeah I typically don’t watch on flotrack, I’d rather not support that corporation. I’m lucky enough to live close enough near Boston so I usually just go In person to watch BU meets. If I can’t make it then I just follow along with the live splits on Lancer timing’s website.

But yeah, lots of guys looking for the Olympic standard of 13:05 and per the BU track Twitter account they are going to have two absolutely loaded fast heats. Looks like the project podium guys are all seeded in the low to mid-14s for times, with Vannerson being the fastest entry.

Expect the NCAA record to go down and maybe even the world record too!

Jealous of that part. I also default to watching the live splits update lol

Results:
Between and 14:10 - 15:42 for the project podium guys. Pretty wide range, but hey not everyone can be Alex Yee on the track. I’m sure this was just a fun side quest for these dudes.

In other news the Nico Young paradigm shift in NCAA track has begun. 12:57 for a collegiate runner are you for real?!?
