I'm not old enough to have been stationed on Camp Lejeune during that time but know a few Marines that were stationed there during the 80's, and they have/had some serious messed up health issues long before the govt formally acknowledged the contaminated water problem. For that, I suspect Bobbit is likely being truthful about his toes, but for his bad decision making? I don't buy that for a minute. Dude is the living embodiment of bad decisions, the contaminated water didn't help with that.

Back in the mid-90s, when his origin story was being created, I remember walking by a college room with about 20 or so people, maybe a 2:3 female/male ratio, all crammed in watching what was clearly a porno. Some of the guys decided they needed to see The Bobbit video. They invited womens. The noises emanating from that clearly dictated that no one was getting aroused, with lots of 'ews' and 'omgs'. I decided that I didn't need to join the clan and went on with the rest of my life feeling like I had made a good decision. #NoRagerts

You know initially I had a reply typed up to the effect of “why the fuck would anyone watch that” and then I remember that college Yeeper would most likely be curious enough to see how that went if the rest of the crowd was having a watch party.

But still fucking weird and wild.

Everyone wanted to see if "it" still functioned. Its probably the same curiosity that keeps us from turning away from a train wreck or renting the Screech porn movie. You know it is going to be awful and will scar your psyche, but you just can't turn away.
