RIP Dickey Betts.

His solo on Blue Sky is one of my all time favorites. Great Band. Great Guitarist.

I was lucky and saw the Allman Brothers Band in 1975 then again in the late 80’s
Dickey was a smooth guitarist.
Rolling down hwy 41.

Mine too! Especially this version. Derek Trucks was great when he joined ABB, but I always missed Dickey...

My sophomore year I took a western civ history class and the instructor was a huge Allman Bros fan - and probably in his late 20s in 1997. Every test had an ABB extra credit question.

Very glad I saw them with Betts when I had the chance. One of the best shows I’ve ever seen.

One of the 14,000’ peaks in Colorado was recently renamed Mount Blue Sky. Though the new name has nothing to do with that song, I am sure it will be playing in my head when I ride it this summer, on a sunny day.

I love that version. Great live album.

I loved all their guitarists Duane, Warren Haynes and Derek Teucks. What a foursome all from the same band!

Dickey was my favorite. Loved his melodic style.

Him and Greg supposedly patched things up before Greg died.
