100 on 1:30 (1:17 oooh guess am not getting out yet)
10 x 100 on 1:25 (1:17s)
10 x 100 on 1:20 (1:17 desc to 1:13s)
6 x [100 kick + 100 easy swim
200 c/d

Haven't swam yet. Will probably get in tomorrow. I don't expect to do as much yardages this month as I get in more bike and, when allowed, runs.
Nice start of month for you though.. fantastic!

Thanks. Must make hay while the sun shines (well, when it's not raining) in Oregon.
I want to swim some best times at a two day meet mid-April, AND I want to accumulate USMS prizes (my 50 mile cap will be mailed soon!) so I will probably be swimming lots :-)

Wu 400 free back, 300 snorkel/pull, 200 IM broken by 25s with 5s rest, 100 back.

Ms, continuous no breaks.

2x400 on 5:45
3x300 pull/paddle on 4
4x200 pull on 3
5x100 free on 1.30 try and descend each one

Cd main to repeat w/u but pool was too crowded. Easy 100m

Done in 70mins

yesterday: weird workout lots of backstroke ~2500 scy + 4 mile run in 28 min (not bad since I took about 3 months off, swim fitness carries over)

today: a TC lite special (plus some starts)

2 mile run to the pool (a bit late)

4 x 125 @1:50
4 x 100 k @ 1:55 (~1:47 avg)
10 x 50 @ 0:50 (~32s)
50 fr blocks (bad start, 28.5)
50 br blocks (another bad start, 35)
4 x 150 descend (1:55, 1:49, 1:47, 1:43) > pretty happy w/that
4 x 25 blocks (goggle flood, fly 14, br 16, fr 12:xx)
200 easy

2 miles run home

edit: 2400 scy

now: pancakes

Got the month started with a nice easy 5k-ish swim in La Jolla. Cove-Pier-Cove.

Volume is cutting back in all training this week as I start to taper for IM Cabo, but I'll be swimming almost every day still..

Don't say that outside the fish thread...it's like talking to a wall... ;)

My normal pool is ~1.5mi away....but no pace clock, or any clock now, and a multitude of other issues... So I traveled about 20min to that other 24hr fitness because they have a pace clock, and when I went there the other week, the pool was high 70's/low 80's.... Well, show up today, the pace clock is not working...out of batteries and they don't have any spare ones...a swimmer told me it is always running out of batteries... So I hop in, but it is scorching! Maybe 85-86+ degrees...I ask the swimmer about that... Is it because of the aqua class in a couple hours? No, it's always like this, the heater was broke last week... Got the approval from the boss to get a more expensive membership at a place with a good pool for swimming. There is a Lifetime Fitness maybe 10min from me...anyone know what their lap pools are like? 24hr doesn't have gutters either...a slosh fest...

You know for the past 3 years or so i have almost never used pace clocks, unless they are the big digital ones. I start my timex watch and now it is nothing to get my times off it. In my glide to the wall i look towards my wrist and by the time my eyes have focused on the number, i hit the wall. I can even now do flips and a little delay to get intermediate splits, but lose about a second each time. It is way more accurate than your standard pace clock, that moving hand just gives me a 2 to 3 second ballpark off in the distance.

Yeah, I'm looking to but a digital watch/stopwatch for the pool...want a big one though, to leave on deck, as I can't stand wearing a watch while swimming...

Short one yesterday, I had to skip out about another planned 1k because of time:

300 easy
4x50 drill
4x50 25 sprint/25 easy
5x100 pull with band on 1:30
5x100 IM cruise on 1:40
5x100 free fast w/ fins on 2:00. held :58's. surprisingly painful. I think I need more of the super high intensity stuff.
