I'll be in PHX for ten days over the holiday (Desert Ridge area) and hoping to find a decent pool I can get a few solid swim sessions in that's not overly expensive. Any good recommendations from the locals on some good options? TIA

You can drop in at McDowell Mountain Ranch Aquatics center. It is probably about 15 minutes to the east of Desert Ridge. It's four bucks to drop in!

Perfect, thank you. Looks great. Six bucks for me, still a steal.
x2 on Scottsdale rec centers. Usually a desert trail nearby -- looks like "Quartz Trail" heads east into some nice scenery.
