What I am saying is that I don’t want to sound like I am blaming the refs for us losing. I don’t.

But after the previous three calls I was at a loss as to why the Knies trip was let go. Especially since it was a scoring chance.

How does Danny Hart sit down with balls that big?

I understood your position about not blaming refs. I ask then, do you , as management has, blame the coach? His winning percentage is off the charts (less playoffs) and he is let go today after signing back in August of last year for more years yet. He is walking out the door shouting give me my money.

I do miss your input and was surprised while searching for our Boston fan to find you first.

I stayed up to watch the National Anthem and the first period and first goal.

First: Danged if that wasn't special when the singer ceased singing, held the mic up in the air and allowed the fans to sing without her contribution. I almost teared up. Well done Vancouver faithful.

Second: So how the fuck did you come back after down 4-1 to win? Well done to the Canucks. Now off to find our Boston fan.

B's had some defensive lapses and a very rough start to the 2nd period, but I think this series comes down to a significant difference in net. I think the teams are fairly well matched offensively/defensively - maybe the B's are a little stronger on the back end, Toronto maybe has a little more firepower overall. But nothing much separating the two teams...except in net, and it showed last night.

I was at the Garden last night, place was electric. My first playoff game since I sat in the last row of the bleachers in a series against Montreal like 20 years ago, it was a hell of a time. Hoping for more of the same tomorrow night :)

Dude, I hope you have tickets to tomorrow's game. Last night's game was definitely a watch event and sets up for either a dud win at home after the refs take charge early on and call a tight game; or Tkachuk and Montour play their taunt game and get the Bruins to bite. Must see TV for me. The cameras caught the preparatory words between the last 2 pugilists (gracious recognition there for your boy) and then your boy informing his coach. I see Tkachuk as the new Marchand with his taunt and cheap punch after Pasta was on his back. But then maybe Montour just revived the old Brad that I used to loathe.

Can't bring myself yet to yell Go Bruins just yet, but for sure there is no lets go Panthers chant until that taunting chip on the collective shoulder of the Panthers gets knocked off.

It’s not the coaches fault but he’s also not the coach the GM wanted. GM inherited him.

I am not shocked by this development in any way.GM is trying to put his stamp on the team.

Tonight is appointment viewing. I expect Swayman to be back in net and the B's to come out with some fire. If I were Montgomery I'd start the Maroon line and tell him to hunt down Tkachuk on the first shift and blow him up.

More importantly though, the B's better figure out how to handle Florida's forecheck or this series isn't going to be much fun for them.

It’s kind of impressive how badly Edmonton is botching having one of the best players ever to play the game. Year 9 of McDavid and the best goalie they’ve managed to have in any of those years was the corpse of Mike Smith. Stuart Skinner now statistically with some of the worst playoff goalie numbers is history.

McDavid and Draisaitl played nearly 30 minutes in a game with no OT.

Can’t wait to see them eliminated again.

Leafs new coach is Craig Berube, won a Cup with St. Louis and known for holding players accountable (whatever that means) it will be interesting to see how he does.

I like him as a coach. I won't pretend to know the Leafs roster up and down. But I like this style of gritty, lasted long in the league because they knew how to work hard and be a great teammate, taking notes along the way. I get the impression he knows how to nurture and push young guys and coddle and push elite players. Everyone thinks they can balance, but it is a definite skill.

Amusingly, I think I have only gotten two pro athlete autographs in my life. At the same time. Rick Tocchet and Craig Berube both signed my gloves when at Flyer's Summer Hockey Camp ~ 1989. If Randmart or Sphere sees this, they will recall the Coliseum, which back then was the only ice rink in all South Jersey. The only time available to rent out the ice for pick-up was 2-4 AM.

Just glad that series is over. Despite that series obviously going 7, that really was a pretty boring series. Vancouver was painful to watch. I'd be nervous about building a winning core around EP and Hughes if I were a Vancouver fan, they were brutal.

Don't think it matters who won that series as I can't see either standing much of a chance against Dallas.

I must have watched a different Vancouver/Edmonton series. The last 2 games were not good for Vancouver but the first 5 games were excellent. I wouldn't build a winning core around EP but Hughes is a solid player to build around.

I think Edmonton will beat Dallas.

Each game was decided by one goal, aside from game six. Game one featured a Canucks comeback from being down 4-1. Game two went to overtime. Game four's winning goal crossed the line with 39 seconds left in the game. Game five won with 33 seconds left in the game.

If you don't find any of that interesting, you may not enjoy hockey.

Been a hockey fan for decades, love the sport. Close games yes, but much of that series was a chore to watch. Vancouver had 4 shots what 30 minutes into a game 7? Just dreadful.

Not to mention some of those games were only close because Skinner is awful.

All of these takes have aged poorly. Skinner played well tonight, the Oilers advance to the finals-it turns out they had a chance against Dallas.

I can't believe they pulled it off, no way the Oilers should have won last night, Dallas outplayed them big time, but I will be rooting for them. LOL

Tell me about it haha. Skinner played really solid the last 3 games. Nurse really turned it around too after all that heat he was getting.

But even more than that for Edmonton they seem to be more bought in as ever as a team. They just shut everything down defensively, didn't allow anything down the middle, and hardly any rebuild attempts. Everything for Dallas was one and done and offense for them in general was a huge struggle. Big props to Edmonton for how they played as a team.

Dallas needs a real game breaker too. Love Robertson and Hintz, but they need someone who can take over a game otherwise they're going to find themselves as being the Rangers of the western conference.

It will be interesting to see how Edmonton goes against a phsyical AND skilled team in Florida. Should be a great series. Game 1 isn't until Saturday? jeeeeeeez

Calgary v. Tampa Bay was one of my all time favorite finals. Shame that almost no one cared.

This should be a good match up. Skinner has played above average since getting the hook against Vancouver, was great last night. And once Edmonton PP woke back up, that was that.

I think this series more than any other in past two years is where Evander Kane shows his worth. He is the perfect take no shit but highly skilled player to match Tkachuk.
