Yes unbelievable swim in a lane over half the distance ahead of the rest of the field. I was a little worried when she opened the meet with a so so 400 free, figured she might be a tiny bit tired and not really tapered. But seems like the meet has given her some rest being so long, so getting a taper whether she likes it or not!!!

This close to the games she probably is just in a mini rest phase, and now she can focus and go for the full taper in Paris. Lord help the ladies going up against her in this 400IM, a lot like seeing Marchand in your heat and just hoping you can stay in the film shot for 2/3rd of the race..

She really has improved her breast stroke too, got all of the record just on that 100..

Still wishing she would do the 800, but doesn't look like that will happen..

Ya, I'd love to see her in the 800 also but I guess you can't always get what you want.

She is way out in front of the world this one. Potential for two of the best swimmers at the games to come from outside of the states (France and Canada).

Even us Aussies will be pulling for her as we don't mind seeing one put up on the US ;)

I am not sure we know her full line up for the games just yet.

As the years have passed, I have become more comfortable rooting for talent and hard work, and not so much country. My favorite swimmer these past two years has been Marchand, and I love the come back story of Dressel. But when they line up for the relays, its all USA baby!!!! Aound Summer is becoming my new favorite all rounder for the ladies, but love some of the breakouts you have coming up on your team too..

I cannot fathom anyone being close to summer in that 400IM, you guys had a nice swim there but she is not racing it, a race for 2nd it would appear. Perhaps like Marchand, Summer can soft swim some events and add an extra one here or there. Like Phelps before her, there are places to be able to hold back, and some places she can just actually shut down a final and still win. Leon did this at NCAA's, forgo the records, take the wins, and load up for the relays. Not many in history have ever been good enough to employ that strategy, but she certainly has slid into that elite group...

Ya, I have felt this way since my early 20s; may the best guy or girl win, regardless of nationality, team, etc.

Same with me

I root for talent as well more and more

Add to that so many of the athletes for racing one country actually live and train in a different country. The lines are so blurred I just go by tent as well
