The treadmill is a very recent addition, I am looking to move a few things around so it feel less “crowd”. The ski ERG will most likely go behind the treadmill so the space behind it won’t be lost and free some floor space on the right. Then, the rower will most likely move near the wall. I exclusively use the 3 rollers for Zwift (Elite Aerion mag), as it offers quite a lot of resistance. The only drawback is that with the resistance set to 1 (0-1-2), it is quite challenging to go over 600W with my 1x gearing; and with the resistance to 2 there is not enough inertia during recovery between hard intervals, so it becomes very unstable. So I have to trade sprint effort resistance or EZ recovery. Not ideal. Maybe a 53 would help, but then my chain is too short LOL

How do you like/how often do you use the Ski ERG?

I use one occasionally at the gym, but never for more than a few mins

Very nice.

Do you have a second screen for the treadmill? and are you running Zwift off a computer or apple TV or something else? After like 5 years I still haven't found an ideal setup in terms of TV screen, computer, trainer and Zwift control. Im just two sweaty to reliably use a touch screen interface while riding and everything else is just a bit awkward.

Since I got the treadmill, I am not using the ski ERG a lot. The machine itself is very well made, like all Concept 2 products. I used to NOT bike or run in the winter, so the ski ERG was a very nice complement to the rower. One mostly leg driven opening the hips, the other mostly upper body and hips closing. I am not a fan of weight training, so the rower is a great alternative because of the lower cadence. But now with 4 machines (rower, ski ERG, bike, treadmill), the ski ERG is the one I use the least.

I don’t have another screen yet, the setup is not final. At the moment, I use my phone on the treadmill to run on zwift. To be honest, I don’t care a lot about what is happening on zwift when I am running ATM. Biking yes as there is more happening and I do structured workout, but I do my thigs when I run. It is really a shame that I cannot use the 10in TV on the treadmill itself using a HDMI cable (Nordictrack C1750)!
But screen wise, I use my 13in laptop on the ground when I bike or row and use the TV as a second screen (TV series or Zwift). If I do an intense workout, I put zwift on the TV and nothing on the computer, if it is just some time to exercise/low intensity I put Zwift on the computer and Netflix on the TV.

I use Jabra elite sport for headphone and the Bluetooth HR is pretty good. I don’t like having a watch or belt… this is perfect.

I'm sure we've all been spending a good amount of time in our Pain Caves recently. I love seeing everybody else's setup!

Here's my budget Pain Cave/Crevice that's just in the corner of my bedroom.

- Used Kickr Snap I purchased from another member on the forum
- Monitor from my WFH days (before everybody was doing it) to display Zwift
- iPad that was just laying around my room, for watching Youtube videos
- Bluetooth speaker I won in a White Elephant
- Little mini desk fan. And I can reach the ceiling fan dial from the saddle for some extra breeze if needed
- Yoga mat that's not quite wide enough, so I had to lay a towel down under one of the trainer legs

The trainer and the fan are really the only things I purchased specifically for indoor riding. Everything else I was able to scavenge from around the apartment.

Once my current lease is up, I'm highly considering moving into another place that would have more room for an improved setup. But this does the job for now!

Rubber flooring was already starting to come up so I drove 2 hours round trip to the closes Tractor Supply Co with horse stall mats. Much sturdier and don't feel bad about dropping weights on the 3/4" thick rubber.

What brand epoxy or paint did you use? I saw it was metallic, but by who? Where can I get it?

47 inch screen with Bose bookshelf speakers on a Wahoo Kickr Core direct drive trainer... I wish I had a home treadmill too.

Looking good! I don't have one right now as I don't have the space for it in my flat, but I was looking at house prices in Cyprus https://tranio.com/cyprus/detached/, thinking I'd get some space for an inside sports room should I successfully switch to full time remote work...
I'll just have to make sure there's an air conditioner in the room, unless I want it to literally become a pain cave in summer.

I made my pain cave out of an extra bedroom / office and I just drop the A/C in the whole place to the max and start to put on sweats and 2 jackets (and a beanie) when it starts getting really cold to prep.

Then I have 4 shots of espresso (and dark chocolate almond milk) and my preworkout and get on the bike and strip layers on the bike during my bike warmup, down to just tri shorts no shirt at the end. It gets pretty icy in there. I just don’t want to be sweating insane amounts in there and I generally heat up and sweat a lot. I have to raise the AC immediately after getting off my bike as it’s pretty cold.

My fan is by the door pulling the cold air into the pain cave as I have heated up that whole room by physical exertion.

Mine is similarly just a small strip of floor where my bike doesn't permanently live. Also jumprope, do swim pulls, and bodyweight exercises in the same area. Key is to have a good fan in the window close by!
