My new to me TT bike.

DIY rear hydration unit.

Still to build the spare/tool storage using the bottle mounts.

Then a 1x setup as I'm not that strong and the bike is by far not my weakest link! hehe

Stay safe everyone.

Nice job on the rear hydration unit!

Can you share some more pictures of how you did this? Where does the hose go to?

Hi TizzleDK,

I'm in same boat not a fan of the Felt box and tbh a tad too small for 2 tubes, lever and CO2.
Dumb question maybe but did the QR box fit straight off or was it just simply a case of adding an extra drill hole? Thanks

Thanks, I'm good. No serious injuries. Really loved the Felt, but the PX is even better. I need to flip that basebar though

I’m glad you’re ok. If you got hit, did they buy you a new bike too?

as of this morning. masking came off and I think it turned out pretty decently. far from a pro job (next time I would use better tape). so I have a few touchups to do, then the clearcoat.

Did you have any issue fitting the painted seatpost back into the seatpost clamp?

I theorized when I saw the progress pics that it the seatpost clamp would ruin your paint for anything that has to pass through the clamp. But I'll be darned if it doesn't look awesome.

Are you using rattlecan spray paint? Anything particular for the clearcoat?

I left the part to be inserted into the seatpost unpainted, so there will be a small black band around the seatpost at the insertion point, as well as the black seatpost clamp. I could have taken the blue all the way down, but I wanted to leave some wiggle room to account for a future saddle change.

Paint is all Tremclad rattlecan rust paint, including the clearcoat. Used 1 full can of primer, 1.5 cans of blue, 1.5 cans of white, and I'm still clearcoating.

colours are "medium blue" and "recreational white"

and only the rebuild left to do

I need to clean some paint out of the cable stops, that's a bit of a pain. Picked up some blue cable housing off amazon, and I have some skateboard tape for the pursuits, although I might splurge and go with the Silca grips.
