I'm waiting to see if there is a lower end version.
Quite a few recent releases from other manufacturers (Specialized, Factor, Cube, Scott to name a few) only come in 2 versions
- fooking expensive (£8k mark)
or
- very fooking expensive (£10-13k mark)

There will only be an SLR Tri bike or UCI TT version. So it doesn't sound like there will be a "low-end" version this year.

The question is, is it the same bike with add-on’s for tri or two entirely different bikes……

Ha ha! This made me laugh. I think the gains on new bikes are so small, and they are so ridiculously expensive now it must be better to put the money into a coach/aero testing your current kit/optimising what you currently have etc. rather than splashing out on one of these. Its crazy money! They need to find a way to bring the prices down, or the benefits of buying one up. I just cannot justify it any way I look at it right now.

He who understands the WHY, will understand the HOW.

I can’t legitimately justify it either… but I’m going to get it anyway. 😂

Now, I’m thinking I might have to be slightly more responsible and wait until 2023, but that should be fine…

So, I thought it was an entirely different bike. It looks pretty similar to the UCI version. Is there some type of compartment by the seat post?

Love the paint!

For a tri bike, that’s pretty radical.

BTA is a COTS solution. So I wouldn't really consider that a part of the design.

Depends if it’s integrated or not. If there are mounts specifically for a cage/bottle (just like the current version), I would say it’s part of the design.

From what I see on the Cube EU site...

https://www.cube.eu/...-carbonnpolarsilver/

https://www.cube.eu/...sl-low-carbonnwhite/

Cheap (!) one £7.5k (UK pounds) with what look like cheap training wheels and rim brakes, or the (even more) expensive one at a quid short of £11k (UK).

Frame only for the cheaper version £3k

This bike isn't what I was expecting for the tri version when someone (honestly forget who it was) stated it was "totally" different. This really doesn't blow me away at first sight and hope there's more to it up close. The paint looks like it's chromed in a sense or candied.

I really like the 2014 speed concept and I'm really happy with it. The only thing I would change would be the weight and adjustability up front. But I'd actually pick weight over the adjustability because once you're set you're good to go.

Yeah if that is the tri version, I'm glad I didn't wait. Just goes to show, never believe anyone on this forum that claims to have inside knowledge of 'amazing' new product.

The paint job looks nice, otherwise meh. Low stem and base bar, no easy to adjust aero/mono riser. Don't care about aero frame bottle.
